Fit Philosophy

Finding professional clothing that truly fits a petite frame has always been a challenge. Simply because this billion dollar industry historically ignores the actual average height and instead chooses to represent garments on a taller frame.

At BlancheWear, it has been my highest priority to showcase each garment accurately from the very beginning. The science behind it is simple: starting with a study of the human form, we created a special size grading system designed across real petite body shapes and from this, developed an inclusive size range.

Every piece in our collections is designed around real petite proportions.

To make that commitment visible, we identified the three most requested age groups among our customers and studied the body data within them: the measurements, the proportions, the fit frustrations and the lifestyle that drive these women to shop. From that research, "Launch Lauren", "Creative Clare", and "Executive Emma" were derived.

When you see these personas throughout our collections, our intention is to show how the garment will fit on a petite body in its actual size. This has been a challenge to execute and such an exciting journey, realizing each design beyond my own size, extending to the greatly appreciated patience of our fit models and then through the remarkable support of AI, my ideas, extensive research, and what felt like a dream spanning over the past years, are brought to you, the community that has been searching for solutions.

Each garment page includes specific size guidance for that style and fabric. BlancheWear is designed for petite women in sizes 00–12.

Please meet our Personas and discover our solution to the widespread dilemmas faced by petite women all over the world.

Meet the Women

Three body types. Three distinct fits. One petite standard.

Launch Lauren — Size 0

Launch Lauren

22 years old

Wears Size 0
5'0" Height
100 lbs

Straight / Athletic Petite

Broader shoulders, smaller hips, minimal curves. A young college graduate stepping into her professional life — and into clothes that finally take her seriously.

Fit Realities

  • Boxy cuts exaggerate the shoulder
  • Needs waist definition without excess fabric
  • Jackets and blazers pull or sit awkwardly at the shoulder

What Works for Lauren

  • Soft tailoring through the shoulder
  • Subtle waist shaping
  • Narrow lapels, lighter fabrics
  • Cropped proportions that don't overwhelm
Creative Clare — Size 4

Creative Clare

31 years old

Wears Size 4
4'9" Height
118 lbs

Petite Pear

Broader hips, smaller upper frame, defined lower body. An emerging artist navigating between New York and Miami — she wants clothes that express her identity without erasing her silhouette.

Fit Realities

  • Tops often too long or too boxy
  • Bottoms pull at the hips but gap at the waist
  • Wants expression without bulk

What Works for Clare

  • Cropped or shaped tops
  • High-rise bottoms with hip room and waist control
  • Draping and fluid fabrics
  • Visual interest up top — necklines, texture, detail
Executive Emma — Size 8

Executive Emma

38 years old

Wears Size 8
5'2" Height
120 lbs

Proportional Petite / Hourglass

Balanced bust, waist, and hip. A working mother and established professional who values efficiency as much as elegance — and has spent years paying for alterations that should never have been necessary.

Fit Realities

  • Needs structure and stretch together
  • Clothes must skim, not cling
  • Length is the biggest issue — sleeves, rises, hems

What Works for Emma

  • Tailored waist with stretch woven fabrics
  • Precision sleeve and pant lengths
  • Blazers that button smoothly without pulling

Garment-specific size guidance is available on each individual product page.
